Report: Gazprom signs deal to ship Turkish Stream gas to Hungary
MOSCOW, Jul 5 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has signed an agreement with Hungary to supply gas via the Turkish Stream pipeline, newswire MTI reported on Wednesday, citing Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
A branch of the pipeline to Hungary will be completed by the end of 2019.
Szijjarto told the news agency that Hungary sees Turkish Stream gas supplies the best option because other routes, across Romania and Croatia, are at an early stage of establishment.
The pipeline will consist of two branches with a capacity of 15.750 billion cubic meters each. One of them, to be finished in 2018, is to supply gas to Turkey, another one is to transit gas to the European countries through Turkey and is to be finished in 2019.
